Dental implants are a revolutionary way to restore the gaps in your smile. They provide a natural aesthetic to match the rest of your teeth while maintaining stability in your mouth. One of the most sought-after benefits of dental implants is their easy-care regimen, composed of regular brushing and flossing—the same way you care for your natural teeth.
Revitalizing a smile with dental implants will require two visits to our office.
During the first visit, Dr. Hoffman will surgically place the implant fixture. This is a minimally-intrusive procedure performed in our Lincoln office. The implant fixture is the foundation for a strong dental implant and functions as the root of your natural teeth.
Once your fixture is placed, your body goes through a natural healing response called osseointegration, which creates a stable bond between the implant and your jawbone.
Finally, the last step toward your new smile is to attach the implant crown. During your first visit, we’ll provide a temporary crown to protect the prepared tooth. The crown is connected to the fixture through a piece called the abutment. After your jawbone has had time to heal, Dr. Hoffman will remove the temporary one and replace it with a custom-manufactured permanent porcelain crown—completing the implant process.
If you’re missing two or more teeth, we can replace those gaps with dental implants—and in the same amount of visits as a single tooth replacement. To avoid the adverse effects associated with tooth loss, we recommend seeking treatment immediately.
Dental implants are the only tooth-replacement option that reverses jawbone depletion by stimulating healthy jawbone growth and maintaining correct tooth positioning. These are only a few of the many benefits dental implants have to offer.
For patients who currently have dentures or are missing most of their teeth, Dr. Hoffman offers full-arch restorations. This option uses a single implant-secured prosthetic that looks and feels like your natural teeth.
An exceptional benefit of full-arch restorations is that you’ll leave our office with a fully-functional temporary restoration. That means you can get immediate relief from the personal and social ramifications of being toothless.
Once your mouth has adjusted to your new implants, you’ll return to Family and Implant Dentistry in Lincoln, NE where Dr. Hoffman will place your permanent and final smile restoration.
